Police found the 6-year-old boy wandering St. Petersburg streets early Monday.

Officers said the boy was found near 24th Avenue South and 40th Street South just after midnight.

Police said someone who knew the boy and his family saw the SPPD Facebook post and called the father this morning to alert him.

The boy's father says the family has several alarms and locks for their special needs child but the boy managed to get out of a window while everyone was asleep.

Officers spent the early morning hours going door-to-door in the neighborhood to see if anyone recognized the boy.

The boy was not hurt.
