  • Deputies initially searching home for child porn, found weapons

Randall Drake has been charged with two counts of unlawfully making or possessing a destructive device.

The sheriff's office was initially at the man's Royal Oak Drive North home executing a search warrant on suspicion that Drake was in possession of child pornography. Instead, they found the cache of weapons.

Deputies said they recovered several firearms, including an AK-47, a 12-gauge shotgun and 2,000 rounds of ammunition.

Drake also had knives, a bat laced with nails, a crossbow and several explosive devices.

There has been no indication that Drake is affiliated with any organization. Authorities said he had no criminal background.

"These are the people that are most concerning to us," said Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri. "What we call the lone wolves, the sleepers that are out there, the people who are not on our radar, the people who have fallen under the radar or off of it."

Deputies said Drake isn't revealing what he planned to do with all the weapons but they did find a handwritten note saying "the world will burn."

He also had aerial photos and maps of schools and a water treatment plant in Hillsborough County.
