The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is investigating the drowning of a 1-year-old boy in Trinity.

Authorities were called just after 6 p.m. Saturday to the 1800 block of Lady Palm Court.

The boy was found unresponsive in a spa, according to the Sheriff's Office.

"A birthday party was being held at the residence when the parents discovered their son was missing," officials said in a news release. "Upon searching the residence, the parents discovered their child."

The boy was taken to Trinity Hospital and then flown to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, where he died.

Deputies said the parents were from Russia and were visiting family members in Trinity.

There was no evidence of foul play.
