Hillsborough deputies arrested a 20-year-old Tampa man in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy at a Town 'N Country condominium complex on Oct. 26.

  • Tamichael Broadnax, 17, shot at Town'N Country area condo
  • Broadnax later died at area hospital
  • Reynaldo Charles Hernandez, 20, charged with 2nd degree murder

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened just before midnight at the Greens of Town 'N Country Condos at 7518 Camarina Calle.

The teen, Tamichael Broadnax, was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

On Friday, deputies located a suspect, Reynaldo Charles Hernandez, 20, and arrested him without incident.

Officials spent the overnight hours interviewing residents and trying to determine why the teen was at the condos. Deputies said the teen did not live at the complex.

Detectives later determined that Broadnax and Hernandez had been involved in a verbal argument over a woman that became violent.

Hernandez was booked into the Orient Road jail Friday. He was charged with second degree murder and aggravated assault.
