The Tampa Bay Bucs hosted the New England Patriots Thursday night for the largest outdoor event in our area since the Las Vegas shooting.

People at the game said the tragedy was definitely on their minds, but they also said they weren't going to let fear stop them from having a good time.

Security measures have been in place at the stadium for a long time--people pass through check points and there is always a heavy police presence at events.

"There's very little opportunity to get something large into the stadium. I attended the National Championship game here this past year and again I felt safer in the stadium than I did out here," Janel Laravie, who attended the game, said.

Security experts say it's important for anyone attending a large event to stay alert and aware. They say you should look for exits and find places you could hide in case of an attack. They also say to report anything suspicious you might see to police immediately.

And as for the game, the Patriots beat the Bucs 19 - 14. But the game wasn't the only memorable moment--the halftime show was also a special one.

The Bucs honored their late owner, Malcolm Glazer, by inducting him into the Ring of Honor. Glazer joins other ring members Derrick Brooks, Warren Sapp, and Mike Alstott.

"He was the team," Alstott said. "I remember him every Sunday, coming in there, shaking each one of our hands."

For the fans, Glazer helped deliver the team's only Super Bowl championship. After buying the team in 1995, he quickly turned the franchise from the "Yuccaneers" into a perennial playoff powerhouse.

"He was the man who brought Tampa back and got us all together--Coach Dungy, Coach Gruden and everybody--to build that process. I'm so happy for him and his family. This is a special night, a special night for the entire Glazer family," Alstott said.

Glazer passed away in 2014, but his legacy of caring for the players carries on.

"If he were here right now, he would simply say thank you, put his thumbs in the air, and say Go Bucs," Alstott said.
