From Nov. 16-23, Carson Rudy will attempt to raise $20,000 while staying in a tent 20 feet up in the air.

His tent is set up outside of Impact Church, which is located at 1201 Burns Ave., next to the entrance to Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales.

Rudy is raising the money for Convoy of Hope, a Christian Disaster Relief Organization. It will use the funds to assist hurricane survivors in the islands.

"I think that it's really important that people that have gotten struck by disaster get help, so they can get their house back and other belongings,” said Carson Rudy.

Last year, Rudy stayed up in the tent and reached his lifetime goal of raising $100,000. He has set a new goal this year of raising $250,000 over the next six years. According to Rudy, that’s enough for Convoy of Hope to purchase a new semi truck, which its volunteers use to deliver goods to those in need.
