  • 19 children adopted into 16 families Friday
  • Parents say Taylor Hollingsworth is 'miracle baby'
  • Friday was National Adoption Day

It was all part of a National Adoption Day Celebration.

On her 4th birthday, Taylor Hollingsworth has a lot to celebrate. But, her mom and dad said they're the ones who have been given the greatest gift.

"She's the life of the party. She will talk your ear off, has more personality than any girl could possibly have. She is a true blessing to us," Cassie Hollingsworth said.

Taylor was a blessing that came into Josh and Cassie Hollingsworth's lives a few years ago when they decided to adopt her.

"She's our miracle baby, she was born around 23 weeks as a drug baby. She was addicted to drugs at birth," Cassie Hollingsworth said.

Taylor's parents said she has been able to overcome obstacles with the biggest smile and instantly became part of the family. They're excited to see what her future holds.

"We thank God that he gave her the life and he's given us the ability to spend time with her," Josh Hollingsworth said. "So to be able to watch that and be a part of that is just an honor. But we're looking forward to everything that's in store for her with life, friendships, education."

It's a life that may not have been possible if it weren't for adoption.

"When you open your heart to a child, it opens up so many amazing feelings but also grows your family in ways that words can't even describe," Cassie Hollingsworth said.

During Friday's celebration emceed by Spectrum Bay News anchor Al Ruechel, 19 children were adopted into 16 families.
