A suspect has been arrested in a string of incidents in which Amazon packages were taken from the porches of homes.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said Elise Rosa, 18, of Davenport, was charged with four counts of unoccupied residential burglary, one count of occupied residential burglary and five counts of petit theft.

Five residents reported last week that packages were stolen. The incidents occurred Oct. 23 and Oct. 24.

A tip received through Crime Stoppers resulted in home surveillance video, which authorities posted on social media.

Deputies said Rosa confessed to the thefts.

"This crime can occur any time of the year, but it's more likely to occur now due to the holidays approaching," Sheriff Grady Judd said. "Please be mindful when you order online - sign up to track your packages, have packages delivered to a locked mailbox or your work address, arrange to be home when the package is delivered, or ask a trusted neighbor to pick up your package."

Rosa was placed in the Polk County Jail.
