A 42-year-old man was arrested in New Port Richey this week after deputies said he entered a home, drank beer and laid down in a bed with a woman who was taking a nap.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Russell Albert Smith was taken into custody after deputies arrived to 9121 Bourbon Street to reports of multiple burglaries in the area. 

While investigating recent burglaries at 9121 and 2020 Bourbon Street residences, deputies received reports of a suspicious person in the area of Kosimo Street amd Kiowa Drive.

Deputies responded to the area and arrested Smith after he entered an occupied residence and laid down in bed with a woman. 

Authorities said Smith entered two sheds and rummaged through property inside, leaving some items. 

At 2020 Bourbon, he entered the residence and attempted to remove the couch, deputies said. At 9135 Cosimo St., he entered and removed jewelry and credit cards and at 9022 Kiowa he drank beer from the refrigerator then laid down in bed with the female resident who was taking a nap.  

The suspect was arrested. There were no injuries reported.

Specific charges have not been released.
