  • Victim adopted by family when she was 15

Albert Ferrell, 65, was charged with sexual battery. Officials said he bonded out of jail this week.

The probable cause affidavit states the victim was taken into the Ferrell's home when she was 13-years-old. It stated she started sleeping with Ferrell two years later when she was officially adopted by the family.

The alleged sexual acts continued after the victim turned 18 and had his child.

"We're looking into beyond the victim, we're going to other foster children that may have been tied to him at some point in time. That's something the potential of previous victims, we don't know that at this time," Brian Thiers with the Bradenton Police Department said.

The Department of Children and Families said the Camelot Community Care oversees foster care in the area.

Bay News 9 reached out to them multiple times about Ferrell's history and have not heard back.
