Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Thursday into Friday morning, with a look at conditions through mid-week next week.

Slightly cooler air drifted south today, making it into our northern counties, so there was a wide temperature range from north to south across the region. Cooler air will continue sagging south into our region the next couple of days.

Expect mostly cloudy skies into the early morning, with lows in the 50s.

Friday will start with some areas of patchy fog and mostly cloudy skies. The clouds will tend to thin through the day, with partly sunny skies in the afternoon.

Highs will continue their slow downward trend with most of the area in the 60s north of the I-4 corridor and low 70s to the south.

Friday night will be partly cloudy, with lows in upper 40s to mid 50s.

Saturday will be mostly sunny and gorgeous, but it will be on the slightly cool side, with highs in the upper 60s.

Saturday night will be mostly clear and cool, with lows in the 40s to low 50s.

Sunday will wrap up the weekend on a nice note, with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and highs again in the upper 60s.

Clouds will increase on Monday with a chance for a few passing showers. Highs will be cool, near the low 60s.

Tuesday into Wednesday will feature a strong cold front headed in our direction. So expect clouds with a chance of showers for a couple days, followed by the coolest air of the season up to this point.
