Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Friday into Saturday morning, with a look at condition through New Year's Day.

  • Chilly morning
  • Sunshine returns
  • Cold next week

The clouds stuck around most of the day. That, combined with the north breeze, kept our temperatures in the 50s and 60s all day.

It will be partly to mostly cloudy into the morning, with some areas of fog.

Saturday morning will be chilly by Florida standards, with lows in the 40s to low 50s.

Saturday will start out with lingering clouds, but then go sunny by the afternoon, making for a nice day and slightly warmer, with highs in the mid to upper 60s.

Saturday night will be mostly clear and chilly, with lows again in the 40s to low 50s.

Sunday will wrap up the weekend on a nice note with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 60s.

Get ready for a much colder pattern next week. Starting Monday, temperatures will drop and then stay down. We will also be dealing with some passing rain chances for at least a couple days.

All that combined will make for a rather chilly forecast by Florida standards.
