Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Wednesday into Thursday morning, along with a look at conditions through the start of the weekend.

  • Front stalls
  • Temperature variation
  • Much colder weekend

The front is moving closer to our area, but is slowing down. There will be a few showers drifting in from the Gulf, with the best rain chance in Citrus and Hernando counties between now and sunrise.

Otherwise, just expect partly cloudy skies with areas of fog.

Morning lows will range from the 50s in Citrus and Hernando counties, to the 60s from Pasco County southward.

Thursday will feature mostly cloudy skies for northern counties and partly sunny skies from the Bay area southward. High temperatures will range from the 60s in northern counties to the 70s from the Bay southward.

The cold front will stall out right over Hernando County, so locations south of that will not notice any major difference in temperatures between now and Friday. There will be a few scattered showers coming in from the Gulf, but the overall rain chance will still be low for now.

Thursday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the 50s north and 60s from the Bay south.

Friday will again feature a range of highs from 60s north to the 70s south. Clouds will increase a lot more on Friday, with the best chance of rain coming in Friday night. Expect the heaviest rain late Friday night, clearing quickly Saturday morning.

At that point is when the massive rush of much colder air will come in, with the entire region being effected. Expect highs only in the upper 50s to low 60s Saturday with a strong wind from the north.
