Weather forecast: Mostly cloudy, some showers overnight

Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Thursday into Friday morning, with a look at conditions through midweek next week.

  • Front pushes south of area Saturday morning

The front is stalled across the area now.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Lows will be in the 50s north and 60s in Tampa Bay.

With the front stalled across the peninsula, Friday will again feature a range of high temperatures from the 60s north to around 80 south.

Rain is likely on Friday. The rain chance is 80 percent. 

During the day, there will be some showers around.  By evening, thunderstorms are likely, moving in from the northwest.

Expect the heaviest rain Friday night into early Saturday morning.

The front will finally push south of us Saturday morning, then a rush of drier and colder air arrives for the weekend.

Expect highs only in the upper 50s north to low 60s south of Tampa Saturday with a strong wind from the northwest. Temperatures will start out warmer in the early morning and will drop.

Low temperatures will be in the mid 30s for the Nature Coast to mid 40s Tampa Bay Saturday night.

Sunday will be sunny and cool with highs in around 60.

Sunday night and Monday morning will be cold, with lows around freezing north to mid 40s. around Tampa Bay. We will have to watch out for the possibility of frost or freezing temperatures in northern counties.

Another cold front moves in on Tuesday with increasing winds, then another round of cooler air arrives on Wednesday.
