Parts of the Tampa Bay area saw rain on and off all day on Wednesday.

Bay News 9 Meterologist Brian McClure said dry conditions are fairly common this time of year with light rain sprinkled here and there.

"We typically do get a little bit more rain on a routine basis in the winter but not much more. All in all this was a very good rain day but not tons of rain. In other words, the quantity wasn't a lot but it was spread out over the course of the day which is a good soaking rain," McClure said.

Conway Tozian watched the rain fall from her front porch in South Tampa.

She said it helps with her yard.

"It takes water to continue the maintenance and I'd love to turn off the sprinkler system so we can have Mother Nature take care of everything in the front and back yard." she said.

The rain caused some minor street flooding and some major puddles.

Construction workers said it also made their day more challenging.

"I have a table saw and so we're outside cutting so obviously we had to pull stuff in and the rain came in pretty fast, too," said George Davis.
