Here's your Tampa Bay area forecast for late Monday evening into Tuesday, along with a preview of the rest of the week.

  • Early afternoon fog
  • Warm afternoon
  • Front Thursday

After a brief shot of cooler air Sunday, we were right back to warmer air across the region as the winds quickly shifted and came in from the southeast. That warmer air brought some record highs across the area -- in particular,Tampa hit 86 degrees, breaking the old record of 85.

It will be a mild early morning with lows mainly in the 60s. Early morning fog will go away within a couple hours after sunrise.

Skies will go between mostly sunny and partly cloudy. There will be just enough moisture in the atmosphere to produce a shower or two in the afternoon along the sea breeze as it drifts in from the coast. Otherwise, most of the area will remain dry and warm.

Highs will easily get into the mid to upper 80s once again, with the warmest temperatures being inland and the coolest near the coast. Tuesday night will go mostly clear with lows in the 60s.

Wednesday will feature mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with warm highs again in the mid to upper 80s. Thursday will feature partly cloudy skies with a few scattered showers possible that afternoon to evening as a cold front moves into the region.
