Tampa detectives searching for Ybor City hit-and-run driver

Tampa police need the public's help in locating a hit and run driver who killed a pedestrian Saturday in Ybor City.

Detectives said the incident took place at the intersection of 15th Avenue East and 15th Street North. The victim has been identified as Royal Jatha, 36.

Officials described the suspect vehicle as a late 1990s — early 2000s Ford pickup driven by a white or Hispanic male with dark hair.

Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the suspect and wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477). Tipsters can also report anonymously at crimestopperstb.com.
