Manatee deputies investigate homicide of a 24-year-old man

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide in Greenbrook Park.

Officials said a man was found Sunday on the 6600 block of Greenbrook Blvd.

An on-duty security guard found Alexander Cherp, 24, outside his vehicle, according to the report. 

Officials said Cherp suffered upper body trauma and was transported to a local hospital where he later died. 

Detectives are working several leads but not arrests at this time. 

Detectives believe Cherp was targeted, officials said.
