A Largo man has been charged for a hit and run DUI crash overnight in Pinellas County.

Troopers said Nathaniel Combs, 23, was speeding on 62nd Avenue North in a BMW and failed to negotiate a sharp curve in the roadway at Westchester Blvd.

The BMW rotated and collided with a fence. Troopers said the fence punctured the vehicle's gas tank, causing it to erupt in flames.

Combs and his passenger Joseph Chapman, 22, fled the scene on foot and were located soon after.

Combs was charged for leaving the scene of a crash with property damage and DUI with property damage.
