Candidates for any office make lots of promises on the campaign trial.  The trick is making good on those promise if elected.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, then-Republican candidate Donald Trump said he would withdraw the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership deal.

Once President Trump was in office he did exactly that.

PolitiFact Florida gave the promise a PROMISE KEPT rating on their Trump-O-Meter.

Writer Josh Gillin said President Trump did not waste time keeping the promise.

“His first full work day in office, he did sign a memorandum that said we are not going to proceed with this,” Gillin said.

Gillin went on to say President Trump isn’t the only person who should take credit for pulling out of TPP.  Congress did not support the deal under President Barack Obama.

For that reason, President Trump’s claim received a PROMISE KEPT rating on the Trump-O-Meter.
