One person was killed, and another was hurt, in a Thursday morning shooting in St. Petersburg.

  • Frankie Camacho, 24, found dead behind home
  • Adrian Lee Wilson, 38, hospitalized and charged

City police responded before 10:30 a.m. to the 700 block of 16th Avenue South after reports of shots fired.

When police arrived, officials said they found Adrian Lee Wilson, 38, in front of the home suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital.

Another adult male, identified as 24-year-old Frankie Camacho, was found in an alleyway behind the home. He was pronounced dead on scene.

"At this time,investigators believe the two were involved in the same incident," the St. Petersburg Police Department said in a news release.

Wilson, who was still in the hospital Thursday afternoon, was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
