A mom and her two children who were missing out of Polk County have been found safe, Sheriff’s Office detectives said late Wednesday.

  • Detectives: Missing Polk mom, kids found safe
  • Mom had been court-ordered to return kids to father
  • Georgia judge rescinded original court order

Officials said earlier that Kelli Rae Alderman, 39, was court-ordered to return her kids, Sid and Ace Large, ages 9 and 5, to their father, Dennis Hagood, of Homerville, Georgia.

Late Wednesday, Polk Sheriff's detectives said they had made contact with Alderman and the two children, who were all safe.

They said a Georgia judge had rescinded the original court order granting custody to Hagood, and the case was closed in Polk County.

Alderman had last been seen Tuesday at the Court House in Bartow at about 3 p.m., where she was supposed to turn her kids in. At the time, Hagood had a court order from both Georgia and Polk County to have custody of the children.

Alderman was last known to be living at her mother’s home at 8292 Lake James Drive, Lakeland.
