A motorcyclist is in serious condition after a hit and run early Thursday morning.

The crash happened at Morris Bridge Road and Camerton Road around 6:45 a.m.

Troopers said a vehicle, described as a white sedan, was traveling northbound on Morris Bridge Road approaching Camerton Road when the driver attempted to pass traffic in a no passing zone and collided with a motorcycle traveling southbound.

Troopers said the motorcycle ran off the road and overturned, causing the driver, Philip Cook, 46, to be ejected from the bike.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

Cook was transported to Florida Hospital in serious condition.

Troopers are asking anyone with information on the suspect vehicle to contact FHP or Crime Stoppers.
