A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Friday on State Road 44 near Interstate 95 in New Smyrna Beach.

The driver of a sedan, Claire Pavelski, 39, of Titusville, was traveling eastbound on SR-44, when she made a left turn from the westbound lane, police said.
While turning to access the I-95 southbound on-ramp, Pavelski entered into the path of 34-year-old Stanley Stern, Jr., who was riding a motorcycle.
Stern was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pavelski was not injured in the crash.
According to police, criminal charges against Pavelski could be filed pending the outcome of an investigation.
