A 27-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday night in South Pasadena.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said Jeremy Sims was traveling eastbound on Pasadena Avenue South when his bike struck a raised cement curb as he approached Shore Drive.

Sims lost control of the motorcycle and landed on the roadway after being thrown off his bike.

The crash occurred just before 9 p.m. Saturday. 

Deputies said no other vehicles were involved in the crash and that Sims was wearing a helmet at the time.

Deputies also said speed and impairment appear to be factors in the crash.

Sims was transported to Bayfront Health Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
