Here's your Tampa area forecast for late Wednesday into Thursday and the rest of the week.

  • Stronger sea breeze
  • Few showers Friday
  • Nice weekend

It was a warm day across the region, because the sea breeze didn’t come as far inland and it took a lot longer in the afternoon before it finally did.

Therefore, as expected, a lot of spots reached 86 to 89 degrees away from the beach, whereas locations at the beach were only near 80.

Skies will go between partly cloudy and mostly clear overnight into early Thursday morning. Lows will be mild in the 60s, except for some upper 50s in Citrus to Hernando Counties.

Thursday will start with a little bit of patchy fog that will burn off quickly after sunrise. Then expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. There will be increasing clouds from the west during the afternoon, but it won’t impact the sensible weather conditions here on the ground.

High temperatures won’t be quite as warm due to a stronger breeze coming in from the gulf in the afternoon. Expect highs in the upper 70s at the beach, low to mid 80s inland, with the warmest spots reaching about 87 or 88 farthest inland.

Thursday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the 60s.

Friday will feature an approaching front, but it’s still very difficult to figure out how much moisture will be along the front by the time it reaches here.

For now we will continue with the 40 percent coverage of showers, but that rain chance could go up or down based on the latest trends as the moisture moves across the Gulf.
