A man walking two dogs was killed Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle in Largo.

According to Largo police, Thomas Lee Mason was struck by a 2011 Subaru at 66th Street North and 126th Avenue North just after 9 p.m.
Police said Mason, 56, was walking his roommate's dogs across the roadway, outside of a marked crosswalk area, when they were struck. He died at the scene. The two dogs also were killed, officials said.
Police said alcohol appears to have been a factor on the pedestrian side.
The 59-year-old driver was not injured.
This investigation is ongoing, but no criminal charges are expected.
