  • Firefighters found Joseph Pratico in the living room
  • Other mobile homes sustained minor damage

Around 5:30 a.m., a neighbor told investigators she saw flames coming from Joseph Pratico’s trailer at the Glenwood Estates mobile park.

When firefighters arrived, they found Pratico’s body in the living room.

Nieghbors called him "Joe" and said he was polite.

"He was just by himself most of the time," said Michael Halker, who lives across the street.

Two women who were walking around the neighborhood saw the fire and called 911.

“We know there was somebody in there,” Lillian Brown said. “But the way, the intensity of the heat and the flames and that, we knew we would be risking our own lives not being firemen to get in there and try to get him out.”

Nieghbors said Pratico wasn't in good health, but he was in good spirits.

"He had a condition where he couldn't walk for quite a while," said Halker. And the last couple of weeks he was finally able to get out and walk to the store."

Three nearby mobile homes sustained minor damage.

Investigators do not believe the fire is suspicious in nature.

The cause is still under investigation.
