A head coach and instructional assistant at Zephyrhills High School has been arrested on charges of unlawful sexual activity with a 17-year-old student.

Samuel Walker, 39, is the head coach for the girls’ junior varsity basketball team.

Officials said the acts allegedly occurred between February 1 and April 17 of this year. The pair traveled to various locations in Hillsborough County where the crimes occurred.

The sexual offenses occurred in a motel room, the suspect's car, and on the roadside.

Walker is charged with six counts of sexual battery on a juvenile, with enhancement for sexual offenses against a student by an authority figure.

Pasco County Schools releated a statement Saturday:

"It is heartbreaking to see one of our employees arrested for a sexual crime involving one of our students," said superintenden Kurt Browning. "Student safety is the district's top priority. The alleged behavior does not reflect the qualities instilled in our employees and it will not be tolerated."
