The Hernando County Sheriff's Office is hitting the streets of downtown Brooksville Monday morning for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Hernando deputies will join more than 300 other law enforcement agencies statewide for the annual event that benefits Special Olympics Florida. 

The run will start at 9 a.m. Monday at Tom Varn Park located at 301 Darby Lane in Brooksville. 

The 2.4 mile run is free and anyone participating should arrive early to register. 

Law Enforcement Torch Run t-shirts will be available for purchase at the event and all proceeds will go to the Special Olympic Florida athletes in Hernando County.
