Getting a perfect score on the ACT college entrance exam isn't easy. Tampa Catholic High School junior John Felletter, however, certainly made it seem that way.

  • Felleter got every question correct
  • Highest possible score is 36
  • Less than one-tenth of one percent of test takers get 'perfect' score

Felleter got every single question correct on his ACT exam. In fact, he got every single test question correct on his very first try.

"I was excited," Felleter said.

"I was shocked," said his former teacher Keith Aeschbach. "That's amazing."

According to administrators of the ACT, less than one-tenth of one percent of test takers get a perfect score on the exam. Among graduating students in 2016, 2235 out of 2.1 million students received the highest possible score.

"There's no way there's that few people," Felleter said.

Felleter admits he's very good at taking standardized tests. After getting a good night's rest and eating a good breakfast, the high schooler said he felt confident that he'd do well.

"My biggest tip honestly is don't study the night before," Felleter said when asked what tip he might have for future ACT test takers. "It has never in my life worked."
