Tampa International Airport officials are hosting an open house Thursday night to discuss phase two of the airport’s master plan.

  • Tampa International Airport to host open house on phase 2 of master plan
  • Airport to expand to accommodate 34 million passengers annually

Phase two includes expansion to the curbside pickup area. It includes new express lanes, exclusively for passengers without checked luggage.

The commercial development area will also include an office building, a convenience store with a gas station, a hotel, and a commercial curb to accommodate transit and other ground transportation.

The open house will start at 6 p.m. in the airport boardroom for anyone interested in learning about phase two of the airport’s master plan.

The projects are part of a three-phase plan that will allow the airport to serve 34 million passengers annually—nearly double the current passenger volume—while remaining in the airport’s existing footprint.
