It was another hot day in the Bay area. Here's a look at the forecast for the rest of the weekend:

  • Another hot day
  • Slightly cooler work week
  • Rain chances increase

*Tampa hit 96, smashing the previous record of 91 and setting a new record for the month of April. Sarasota/Bradenton Airport hit 96 for a record high also.

Skies will be partly cloudy overnight.

Some low clouds or fog will form late.  Lows will again be in the mid 70s around Tampa Bay near 70 for the Nature Coast.

An upper level ridge of high pressure continues overhead.  This will continue well above normal temperatures.

On Sunday, the morning fog and low clouds will give way to partly cloudy skies.  The sea breeze will form in the afternoon, but is not likely to produce any showers. Afternoon temperatures will be close to record highs again.

The high pressure in the upper levels will shift east into the Atlantic by the beginning of next week. Afternoon temperatures will drop down just a slight bit. Overall, high temperatures will stay above normal during the day and overnight. Some fog is likely over the next several mornings. There will also be a chance of afternoon to early evening showers along the sea breeze Monday.

An area of low pressure develops over Missouri on Sunday with a cold front extending south through Louisiana and eastern Texas. This system will track gradually closer to Florida. It will be breezy through at least Monday.

Rain chances will increase Tuesday through Wednesday as the front slows down and stalls over the area.

Another front is possible next Saturday with some decent rain chances.
