UPDATE: 11:15 a.m. - Officials have reported that Maria Lara, 18, has been located and will be returning home. 

ORIGINAL REPORT: The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's helping in locating a missing/endangered teenager.

  • Teen called mother, said she no longer wanted to live

Maria Lara, 18, went missing on May 9 around 10 p.m. after she got into an argument with her child's family, according to Lara's mother. 

Her mother told deputies that Lara called her to say she no longer wanted to live and asked her mother to take care of her 8-month-old daughter.

Deputies said Lara fled on foot from her family's residence and hasn't been seen or heard from since. 

Maria Lara is 5'4, 190 lbs. with a large build, and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a green casual dress.
