A 15-year-old student at Citrus High School in Inverness was arrested Monday after deputies said they discovered "threatening drawings" on the wall of a bathroom stall earlier in the day.

Deputies said school administrators contacted the Citrus County Sheriff's Office Monday morning following the discovery of the drawings. After a brief investigation, school officials identified two male suspects who were students at the school.

One of those two students, who we are not identifying in accordance with our Crime Guidelines, was arrested and charged with false report concerning planting a bomb, an explosive, or a weapon of mass destruction, or concerning the use of a firearms in a violent manner.

The second student has yet to be charged, pending the full results of the ongoing investigation.

After interviewing both students and their parents, Citrus deputies determined that there was no credible threat to Citrus HS students of staff.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call 911 and ask for the Sheriff's Office's Major Crimes Unit.
