Jennifer Rosinski, 34, couldn't believe the first serious accident she was in, involved a gator.

"I've never been in a significant accident before, and the first one I'm in, is a car vs. alligator!" Rosinski said.

The crash occurred around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday on I-75 at mile marker 178.

Rosinski lost control after hitting the gator, and the vehicle flipped multiple times, according to the report.

Rosinski walked away with some bruises and cut under her eye. However, the gator did not survive the collision.

Lt. Gregory S. Bueno said crashes involving alligators are rare along that stretch of I-75 in southwest Florida.

Florida Fish and Wildlife was called out to take possession of the deceased gator.
