Cooler temperatures are moving into the area. Here's a look at the weekend forecast.

  • More sea breeze storms
  • Cooler temps ahead
  • Cold front midweek

Tonight, sea breeze storms will move west into the Gulf during the evening. Skies will be partly cloudy with lows again near 70 north to mid 70s in Tampa Bay.

The upper level ridge of high pressure over the region will break down and push south Sunday.

Sunday afternoon temperatures will not be quite as high.  As upper-level energy moves in from the northwest, rain chances will continue.  The timing will be in the afternoon and evening mainly along sea breeze boundaries. Skies will be partly cloudy to partly sunny.

Scattered showers and storms on Monday late morning into afternoon will move eastward during the day due to a southwest wind. The rain chance is 40 percent on Monday.

Tuesday, there will be a lower rain chance of just 20 percent. The chance will mainly be inland.

A cold front pushes into our area Wednesday and Thursday with chances of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some areas will see very heavy rain.

It will be windy Wednesday into at least early Thursday.  The rain should end on Thursday and clouds will decrease.

The front will actually push through as it weakens.  The dew points will move down a bit.

Friday morning lows will be in the mid 60s Tampa Bay to near 60 north. But the drier air heats up quickly, so afternoon temperatures will be in the upper 80s.

The chance for rain will return by Saturday afternoon.

- Sunday and Sunday night, the front will move east, with numerous showers and storms expected once again along much of the Gulf Coast and north to the lower Great Lakes and along most of the East Coast. Heavy rain and isolated flash flooding will be possible once again. The southern portions of the front is expected to become stationary across Texas, and severe thunderstorms are possible across this area once again on Sunday.

- High pressure located near Bermuda is helping to support fresh to strong trade winds over the east and central Caribbean.
