Parts of Central Florida saw rain Sunday, but the chances of storms increases as the work week begins.

Hit and miss showers developed along I-95 Sunday, with some decent downpours along boundary collisions down the spine of the state last night. A warm and muggy night is in store, before we turn our attention to more showers and storms Monday. This is just the beginning of a fairly active week of storms ahead.

High pressure is sagging south, bringing our wind down and allowing for the sea breezes to move inland and storms to fire up last night. After a warm and muggy overnight, we'll kick off a new week with more substantial drought relief. A front to our north will push high pressure south, allowing deep moisture to increase. Afternoon rain chances bump to 60% along sea breeze and boundary collisions. Best chances will be from Orlando northward. Highs Monday remain close to 90. A trough digging deep into the southeast U.S. will keep rain chances 50% Tuesday. As another front approaches, we'll increase rain and rumble chances to 60% again Wednesday. We could even see strong to severe storms Wednesday evening. Rain ends late Thursday.

An east-southeast trade windswell and wave heights of only one to two feet will create poor surfing conditions along our east coast Monday. The good news if you’re planning a beach day is the best rain chances remain inland throughout the afternoon, although an isolated shower can’t be ruled out. Swim near a lifeguard stand as the rip threat remains moderate.
