Sarasota police looking for hit and run suspect

Sarasota Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify a hit and run suspect from May 7.

The crash occurred around 4:50 a.m. at South Tamiami Trail and Bay Road in Sarasota.

Police said a vehicle, believed to be a white GMC Terrain, turned westbound onto Bay Road from S. Tamiami Trail in front of a vehicle traveling south.

The two vehicles crashed, and the driver of the white SUV took off, police said.

The drive of the other vehicle received non-life threatening injuries.

The vehicle in question has damage on the passenger side rear door area, police said.
