The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant at a home in Inverness Thursday morning and seized nearly eight pounds of ‘high grade’ marijuana and cannabis wax, with a street value of over $20,000. They also seized three bottles of liquid codeine and $16,667 cash.

  • Deputies seize pounds of marijuana, cannabis wax, cash from Inverness home
  • Kolyn Moss charged with drug possession, intent to distribute

Deputies said the occupant of the home, Kolyn Moss, sold large amounts of marijuana on a regular basis.

According to the sheriff’s office, cannabis wax and codeine are becoming more prevalent in the community. Cannabis wax is concentrated THC, and is considered a felony in the state of Florida.

Officials said liquid codeine is mixed with soda and consumed like a cocktail. It is commonly referred to as “Lean,” because the effects make you lean to the side, or “Syzurp,” a name coined by rap artists.

During the search of Moss’s home, deputies also found several items of distribution equipment.

Moss has been charged with possession of cannabis with intent to distribute, possession of cannabis wax with intent to distribute, possession of controlled substance (codeine), and possession of paraphernalia.

"It's pretty simple," said Sheriff Mike Prendergast. "Don’t sell drugs in our community. We will find you and we will arrest you."
