Here's the Tampa Bay-area weather forecast for Memorial Day evening and the workweek ahead:

  • Humidity is back
  • Typical summer heat
  • Rain chances increasing

Skies will be partly cloudy inland but mostly clear for coastal locations. There will be an isolated shower still possible over inland areas overnight, but it will be mainly quiet for coastal counties.

Temperatures have been hot during the day, but they will drop back down into a comfortable range overnight into early Tuesday morning with lows in the upper 60s north, low 70s inland and mid 70s near the coast.

Although the humidity has increased, the atmospheric moisture is still limited, which is why we're not seeing numerous scattered storms in the area yet. But that looks like it will change as we go through the upcoming week.

Tuesday will start quiet with mostly sunny skies. Clouds will build through the afternoon. There will be a strong enough sea breeze coming in from the Gulf of Mexico that the best chance of seeing a thunderstorm in the late afternoon to evening will be inland away from coastal counties. There's a 20 percent to 30 percent chance for storms east of I-75.

Highs will be in the mid 90s in most spots and upper 80s at the coast. Any storm will slowly wind down at night with partly cloudy to mostly clear skies overnight. Lows will be in the low to mid 70s.

Moisture will continue to increase through the upcoming week, so expect an uptick in rain chances each day.

The rain chance will be at about 30 percent Wednesday, but the best coverage will tend to be inland because of a sea breeze moving in that direction.

Highs will be in the low to mid 90s.
