Nine St. Pete residents got a startling wake up call Saturday morning around 8 a.m. when a vehicle barreled into the front of their home on 17th Avenue North.

When officers arrived on scene, they felt that the driver of the silver 2013 Toyota, Elaine Ribeiro, 40, was under the influence of a chemical or controlled substance, due to her actions and behavior.

Officers said Ribeiro refused to perform a Field Sobriety test or provide a urine sample.

She was arrested on DUI charges and booked into the Pinellas County jail.
