David Cooper, 36, faces charges including residential burglary, armed residential burglary and dealing in stolen property.

The St. Petersburg Police Department said the incidents occurred over the last five weeks.

According to officers, he didn't wear any gear to deal with the fumes.

Investigators recovered rifles, a handgun, ammunition, electronics, jewelry, cash and more that were taken from the homes.

Police said that when Cooper was taken into custody, he was in possession of a handgun.
