Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Tuesday into Wednesday morning, along with a look at the rest of the week.

  • Storms wind down
  • Partly cloudy skies overnight
  • Pattern change begins Wednesday

Storms continue to wind down around the area but will still continue in a few areas through about midnight.

After that, partly cloudy skies will be in place overnight.

Our weather pattern changes back to a normal summer pattern beginning Wednesday. This will mean the mornings will be quiet with afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.

This pattern will stick around through the weekend.

NATIONAL

Heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms are expected across the Northern and Central Plains, pushing eastward into the Upper Midwest by Wednesday.  These storms will be capable of large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes.

TROPICAL UPDATE

A tropical wave over western Africa is forecast to emerge into the far eastern Atlantic Ocean on Wednesday or Thursday.  Some development of this system is possible later this week before conditions become unfavorable for development over the weekend.
