Conditions came together just right for a vivid waterspout to form just off the coast of Hudson Wednesday evening.

Several Bay News 9 viewers sent in pictures and video of the funnel cloud, which could be seen from the Port Richey and Hudson areas, and as far away as Spring Hill.

  • Evening storms, then partly cloudy skies
  • Thursday similiar to what we saw Wednesday
  • Typical summertime pattern through weekend

After a record high of 95 in Tampa today (most other areas were around 90-91), storms this evening will eventually wind down.

We will be left with a partly cloudy sky overnight with Thursday morning lows in the mid 70s.

Thursday will be a lot like Wednesday with a light east to southeast wind flow allowing a sea breeze to come inland just a little bit.

Then, east coast showers and storms will slowly move across the state and interact with the sea breeze front during the very late afternoon or evening with some more storms expected.

This type of typical, summertime pattern will last through the upcoming weekend.

NATIONAL
Thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds, and possible tornadoes are expected tonight over the Northern Great Plains.  These storms will shift into the Great Lakes area on Thursday.

Summer heat continues in the Desert Southwest.

TROPICAL
Tropical cyclone development is not expected through the weekend in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea or Atlantic ocean.
