One person was killed and five other injured in a crash late Tuesday in Pinellas Park.

According to Pinellas Park police, the crash happened on Park Boulevard near 62nd Street North just after 11 p.m. 

Police said a Mazda SUV carrying six people collided with a Nissan sedan in the intersection, sending the Mazda off the roadway where it crashed into a tree. 

One man in the Mazda died at the scene.  

Five other people were transported to an area hospital. Officials have not given the conditions of the people. 

Traffic Homicide investigators have been called to the scene.
