Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Wednesday into Thursday morning, as well as a look at conditions on Friday.

  • Morning showers
  • Front on the way
  • Drier Friday

Another batch of moisture moved through the area today, and the last one is on the way for Thursday morning as the low pressure finally drags a front into our area. Expect skies to go from partly cloudy back to mostly cloudy into the morning.

Although we had another brief dry slot, the next round of showers and storms will come through for Thursday morning with some heavier showers. Morning lows will be in the mid 70s for most spots.

After the batch of rain moves through, there will be a few lingering scattered showers into the afternoon. Drier air will then start to makes its influence felt, with the bulk of the rain gone and skies going back to partly sunny.

The change will result in a warmer afternoon on Thursday, with highs back to the mid to upper 80s.

Thursday night will be partly cloudy and mostly quiet with just an isolated chance of a lingering showers. Lows will be in the upper 60s to mid 70s.

Friday will be the first day in a long time that we have more sunshine than clouds. Expect it to be much warmer, with highs in the low 90s for most spots away from the water.

There will still be enough moisture to trigger a few scattered storms, but it will not be anything like the coverage we have seen lately. Instead, expect only a 30 percent coverage of hit and miss storms, mainly in the afternoon to evening.
