Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Monday into Tuesday, with a look at the rest of the week.

Skies will be generally partly cloudy through morning. Some showers and storms will be likely in the coastal areas by, or even before morning.

It will be warm and muggy.  Low temperatures will be in the mid 70s inland to around 80 degrees at the coast.

An area of high pressure across the Florida peninsula will continue to move south during the next couple of days. This will set up a southwest flow, with showers and thunderstorms moving onto the coast from the gulf waters during the morning hours. The storms will then spread inland during the afternoon.

With deep moisture in place, scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected Tuesday and Wednesday with the rain chance 60 percent each day.

High temperatures will be closer to normal with most of us in the upper 80s to low 90s.

For the middle to the end of the workweek, a light onshore flow will support the potential for some morning showers and storms along and near the coast, with the greatest storm potential and coverage expected across the interior during the afternoon, with sea breeze/outflow boundary collisions.

NATIONAL

Monsoonal moisture streaming into the Desert Southwest will trigger showers and thunderstorms over the Southwest, Great Basin, Four Corners and the Southern Rockies. Periods of heavy rainfall may occur, which could lead to rapid runoff and flooding.

TROPICAL

Tropical Storm Don is moving toward the Windward Islands. It should move across the Windwards Tuesday afternoon and evening, bringing winds and 2-4 inches of rain.
