Drugs, money, and a luxury car: Hernando County deputies seized all of that from a man they call one of Spring Hill's biggest cocaine dealers.

  • Devan Bristol, girlfriend Jasmine Delaine arrested
  • 22 pounds of marijuana, nearly 300 grams of crack seized
  • $90,000 Mercedes also impounded

The Hernando County Sheriff's narcotics unit executed a search warrant Wednesday on Larkin Road, taking Devan Bristol and his girlfriend, Jasmine Delaine, into custody.

Inside a home there, they say they found 22 pounds of marijuana, almost 300 grams of crack cocaine, several kilograms of cocaine, codeine and just over $35,000.

They also confiscated two cars, including an almost $90,000 Mercedes that they said Bristol recently bought.

There was also a 3-year-old child inside the home, who is now in custody of the Department of Children and Families.

Residents Janette and Charles Paxson were shocked to see dozens of sheriff's units on their street early Wednesday morning.

"We were up early with a bang! We didn't know what was happening," Janette said.

The Paxsons said they had no idea what was going on at their neighbor's home.

"You just never know what's happening in the next house," Janette said. "The Sheriff said when a home has that much cash and valuable items inside, it's a big target for people wanting to break in, which he said then puts other homes in the area at risk."

The Paxsons said they do not take that risk lightly.

"They could have mistaken our home for theirs," Janette said. "I'm glad that they're out. Maybe we can get better neighbors now."

The Sheriff's Office said there's still a lot of work to be done.

''We're probably already on to you," Sheriff Al Nienhuis said. "And you'll probably be getting a visit from us in the early morning hours. We're not going to tolerate this going on in our community."
