A 79-year-old woman was hospitalized in a house fire in unincorporated Clearwater Thursday morning.

According to the Pinellas Sheriff's Office, Dunedin Fire Rescue responded to 2173 Pine Ridge Drive just after 7 a.m. to a call about smoke coming from the home.
Deputies and fire rescue personnel said there was a small fire in the kitchen of the home.
Dimitra Dimopoulos was found unresponsive in the home suffering from smoke inhalation. She was transported to Tampa General Hospital ospital with life-threatening injuries. Her condition has not been released.
Dunedin Fire Rescue extinguished the fire and their investigators say the fire does not appear suspicious.
Pinellas Sheriff's detectives are investigating.
